Andrew is Founder, Director and CIO at Aubrey, as well as being lead Investment Manager of the Global Emerging Markets and Global Equity strategies.

A graduate of Cambridge University, he began his career at Cazenove & Co then joined James Capel in 1987 and was transferred to James Capel (Far East) in Hong Kong in 1991. He continued in his role as an Asian specialist working with UBS Warburg from 1992-1998 in Hong Kong.

Andrew joined Stewart Ivory in 1998 and in 1999 he established the Global Opportunities Fund, the First State Global Opportunities Fund, which remained his signature fund throughout his tenure at First State Investments. Since inception (August 1999) through June 2006 the fund rose 112.2% compared to a rise of 3.8% in the MSCI World Index. The Fund was top quartile over 1,2,3,4,5 years and since inception.

Sharon is Founder, Director and has been responsible for Aubrey’s European Strategy since its inception in 2008. She is also Head of Research and lead Investment Manager on a Luxembourg quoted European SICAV and a UK quoted Europe ex-UK OEIC. Sharon heads up Aubrey’s Sustainability Committee, which ensures the consistency of ESG scoring across both investee companies and internally within Aubrey, as well as monitoring UN supported PRI reporting.

Sharon’s financial career started at Crédit Commercial de France as an analyst in its Mergers & Acquisitions division. This came after she originally trained as an opera singer in the 1980s.

Between 1992 and 2006, Sharon was with Walter Scott & Partners, becoming a Board Director in 2001. Here, she had a global remit following extensive research experience into the major markets of the world: the UK and Europe (including emerging Europe), the USA and Far East. For almost a decade she held primary responsibility for the firm’s European stock selection and for the firm’s regional European assignments, either fully discretionary or with client-specific parameters. Sharon helped develop the firm’s institutional fund management business and managed several publicly quoted SICAVs.

Sharon was ranked 8th in Citywire’s Alpha Female Report 2022, which ranks managers across all asset classes according to consistency of performance over the past 5 years. Investment Week’s Women in Investment Awards 2021 awarded her Highly Commended in the category Fund Manager of the Year (small to medium firms). In addition to holding degrees from Bristol University and the University of Edinburgh, Sharon is fluent in both French and Italian.

Andrew became Aubrey’s CEO in March 2022, having joined the firm in January 2019 as Chief Operations Officer, Chief Compliance Officer and Director.

Prior to joining the firm, Andrew worked for six years at First State Investments: initially in the EMEA Distribution team and then as Head of the Institutional Client Team for Stewart Investors (a separately branded division of First State Investments). His final role prior to moving to Aubrey was Chief of Staff for Stewart Investors; a new role working directly with the CEO and operating across all aspects of the business on strategy, planning, coordination and communications.

From 1992 to 2012, Andrew served as an Officer in the British Army and saw active service in locations around the globe, interspersed with policy and planning roles in the Ministry of Defence and the Army’s headquarters. He holds a Degree in Mechanical Engineering, a Master’s Degree in Defence Technology and the Investment Management Certificate.

Mark joined Aubrey in 2017, having known Andrew Dalrymple for several years whilst working in Hong Kong together.

Since 1987, Mark has been involved with Asian equities in a number of capacities. This began in equity sales before he established and managed a trading book for Crosby Securities in Hong Kong.  He was also responsible for initiating a corporate finance business focused primarily on China. After the sale of Crosby Securities, he joined Warburgs with his China team. On his return to London, Mark founded a FCA registered fund management business with a number of Asian equity strategies. He managed that business until 2016 when he sold his interest.

Rob is a Director of Aubrey, and Investment Manager of the Global Emerging Markets Strategy. He joined the firm in 2014.

An engineering graduate from Cambridge University, Rob began his career in 1988 at Thornton Management in London. Then he spent ten years in Hong Kong as an Asian fund manager with Credit Lyonnais International Asset Management. This company was later bought by Nicholas Applegate and then Colonial First State, where Rob ran the North Asian investment team as well as managing the Asian Special Situations Fund and a number of single country funds investing in India, Pakistan, Indonesia and Thailand.

He then went on to co-found emerging markets investment boutique BDT Invest LLP in London in 2000. Whilst at BDT, Rob co-managed a number of emerging market portfolios as well as the BDT Asian and Oriental Focus Funds.

John is a Director of Aubrey, and Investment Manager of the Global Emerging Markets Strategy. He joined the firm in 2012.

John is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde, with a BA in Economics and, additionally, is a member of the CFA Institute.

John has over 30 years’ investment industry experience across global equity markets. He joined Glasgow-based FS Assurance in 1988, and managed equity portfolios in the UK retail and pension fund market. He then moved to First State Investments in 2000 to manage retail and segregated European client portfolios. In 2004, he moved to Alliance Trust PLC and was a member of the Global Equity Team and subsequently responsible for the Global Emerging Markets portfolio.

Jon joined Aubrey as Investment Manager and Director in July 2020 where he leads the Defensive Income Strategy.

Prior to this, Jon had a 28-year career at Brooks Macdonald where he had been one of the founding directors. Throughout that time, he developed innovative and attractive investment management strategies, building the business from scratch until he left in October 2019 when it had 500 employees and £13bn FUM. During his time at Brooks Macdonald, he launched and managed the Defensive Capital Fund and by the time of his departure, had grown that to £700m, winning several awards including the 2019 Lipper Award for the Absolute Return sector.

Lesley joined Aubrey at its outset in 2006 and is Director, General Manager and in charge of HR responsibilities.

Lesley began her career at Stewart Ivory in 1987 and rose to become the senior personal assistant in the Wealth Management Division. This made her responsible, not only for correspondence and client reporting, but also for preparation and presentation of marketing literature, travel arrangements and general office management.

In 2004 she joined Rossie House Investment Management. On top of her previous responsibilities Lesley added the calculation, maintenance and presentation of performance data, as well as liaising with fund accountants on client cash management to her skill set. Lesley has strong experience of establishing new offices and all necessary attendant services.

Iain joined Aubrey in 2020 as Compliance Manager after gaining over 30 years’ experience in the financial services industry. He became COO and CCO in March 2022.

Starting his career in 1989 at Standard Life, Iain worked in operations before progressing to compliance. He managed the Assurance Team before departing to First State as Senior Compliance Manager. In a move from asset management roles, he then joined JP Morgan as the Client Service Manager. Here, he was responsible for managing the fund’s accounting and client reporting service provided to BlackRock. Iain returned to compliance in 2012 as Compliance & Operations Manager at Anderson Strathern Asset Management.

A further stint at Standard Life as Senior Compliance Consultant was followed by joining Cornelian Asset Managers as their Compliance & Risk Manager and MLRO. Iain has built up over 15 years’ compliance specific experience in his career dealing with both fund and private client regulation and also holds the CISI Diploma in Investment Compliance and the Investment Management Certificate.

A graduate from the University of Edinburgh Business School, with an MSc in Banking and Risk Management, Klyzza is a Swedish national and has been educated in the Philippines, Sweden, Bahrain, UAE and Saudi Arabia. She holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and Certificate in ESG investing. In 2019, Klyzza won ‘Young Investment Woman of the Year (small to medium firms)’ in Investment Week’s Women in Investment Awards.

Jay joined Aubrey in 2018 as an Investment Analyst.

Previously, he was at Kempen Capital Management where he was a Junior Investment Analyst focusing on European Small Cap equities. Jay is a CFA charterholder and holds the Investment Management Certificate, as well as the Certificate in ESG Investing. He graduated from the University of Heriot Watt with a first-class BSc Hons in Economics and Finance.

Camellia joined Aubrey in 2020 as an Investment Analyst after gaining a range of experience in previous roles.

Camellia started her career in investment management at Seven Investment Management in London and Qianhai Equity Exchange in Shenzhen. She then worked at Aberdeen Standard Investments where she was an Investment Analyst in Private Markets across their Corporate Finance, Diversified Assets, Infrastructure Equity and Private Equity teams.

Camellia has gained a Master’s degree in Accounting and Finance from the University of Edinburgh. She has lived and studied in both China and Australia and is fluent in Cantonese, Mandarin and Hakka. She has also completed Level 1 of the CFA course and has achieved the CFA ESG certificate.

Chris is an Investment Manager and heads up Aubrey’s Private Client team. He has been with Aubrey since 2014.

Chris was Deputy Regional Director for Rathbone Investment Management in Edinburgh until 2013, having joined the firm in 1997. He was a member of Rathbones national Asset Allocation and Collectives Research Committees and has a significant background in alternative assets. Chris dealt specifically with adviser solutions and has particular experience in managing SIPPs. He joined Aubrey to establish its adviser and MPS services.

David joined Aubrey in January 2021 as Investment Manager in the Private Client team.

Before beginning his role at Aubrey, David worked for Turcan Connell Asset Management and then Cornelian Asset Managers. In this latter role, David managed portfolios on behalf of a range of clients, before the firm’s acquisition by Brooks Macdonald.

David attained a MA (Hons) in Social Policy and Politics from the University of Edinburgh. He also holds the Investment Advice Diploma (IAD) and Certificate in Private Client Investment Advice & Management (PCIAM). Additionally, David is a member of the Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

Siada joined the Private Client team as Operations Associate in 2022. Here she runs the team’s Operational framework and is also the lead for change management and process improvement.

In 2005, she began her career with Rathbone Investment Management, joining the head of Aubrey’s Private Client team (Chris Sutton) within Middle Office Operations. Siada has wide industry knowledge and experience working in various roles such as Lead Analyst, Senior Operations and Client Service with both larger commercial and smaller bespoke businesses.

In 2010, Pamela joined Aubrey as an Administration Assistant.

Pamela has strong experience working for financial service organisations. She joined Stewart Ivory & Company in 1991 as Secretary in the Wealth Management Division. Here, Pamela was responsible not only for correspondence and client reporting, but also for travel arrangements and general office management.

In 2002, she joined Adam Investment Management as Secretary to the Investment Management team where she was responsible for client reporting, correspondence and meeting and travel arrangements.

William joined Aubrey in 2013 as Head of Investment Operations.

William has over 20 years of industry experience and in-depth knowledge of building, developing and managing various investment operation teams across a range of disciplines. He joined Adam & Company Investment Management in 1990 and was responsible for systems administration and reporting of discretionary private client, ISA and Fund operations.

In 2006, William was appointed Head of Investment Administration Client Services. In this role he managed a department of 23 people who provided custody & administration services to 3rd party client investment houses with over £7 billion funds under administration and over 12,000 client accounts.

Danna joined Aubrey as Investment Operations Manager in 2017, with over 20 years’ experience in financial services.

Danna gained a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematical Sciences with Computing from Robert Gordons University. She then began her career for Franklin Templeton Investments in Edinburgh, working in Fund Accounting.

After this, Danna moved to the Caribbean where she spent seven years running the operations for BNY Mellon, Alternative Investment Services in the Cayman Islands. She was then appointed as Head of Operations at Anderson Strathern Asset Management in Edinburgh.

Peter, a New Zealand national, joined Aubrey at its outset in 2006 as Investment Operations Manager. He has extensive experience in many of the financial and fund administration aspects of asset management organisations. This began in 1990, where he was the Back Office and Operations Manager for Antessa Investment Management until 1993.

He was then Head of Settlements and a member of the finance team of Foreign & Colonial Emerging Markets between 1993 and August 2001. Peter then spent 7 months helping to set up and recruit for the back-office operations in Guernsey for Longview Partners, a private client wealth management company set up by a colleague from Goldman Sachs. From 2003 until 2004 he worked for Bank of New York, Scottish Life and other financial institutions in Edinburgh. After this, he joined Bank of Scotland in a permanent role where he worked within the loans administration department.

Renato joined Aubrey in 2021 and is an Investment Data Analyst.

He began his career in 2014 at Deutsche Bank Asset Management in Rome covering US and UK Equities, and the healthcare sector. Prior to this, Renato graduated from the University of Tuscia with a BSc Hons in Banking and Finance, and from the Rijksuniversiteit with a MSc in International Management.

Renato has lived and studied in Italy, the Netherlands, and England, and holds the Investment Management Certificate.

John joined the Aubrey sales team in 2015.

He has over 30 years of diverse experience from selling investment products to the UK wholesale marketplace (global private banks, asset managers, family offices, wealth managers, IFA’s, platforms and life companies). Further, John has built his career by working for the some of the most prestigious fund providers in the UK such as Legal & General, Gartmore, Threadneedle, Veritas and Skandia Investment Group.

He has a Business Studies degree, the Investment Management Certificate and a CISI Investment Advice Diploma.

Simon joined the Aubrey sales team in 2021. He is responsible for the promotion and distribution of Aubrey’s range of funds.

Simon previously worked for Brooks Macdonald, having joined in 2015, where he held the role of Discretionary Sales Director, Specialist Funds. Prior to this, Simon worked at SEI Investments Company as a Sales Director. He has over 18 years’ experience in the financial services industry, having also worked at Scottish Widows Investment Partnership, Gartmore and BNP Paribas Securities Services in Paris and Frankfurt.

Simon holds the Investment Management Certificate (IMC) and a BA Languages For Business degree from the University of Wolverhampton. He is also fluent in German, both written and spoken.

Myle joined the Aubrey sales team in 2022. Based in Madrid, She has a wealth of experience in fund sales including more than 5 years as a Senior International Sales Manager at La Française. Myle has also held positions at Fairfield Greenwich and Platinum Capital where she was successful in raising capital in the institutional and wealth management markets. Prior to this, she was Head of Sales Support and Client Services at DWS Investments/Deutsche Asset Management for Iberia.

In addition to her track record of developing and maintaining business contacts, Myle has three Master’s Degrees in Business Administration, Securities and Financial Markets and Financial Risk Management.

Linzi joined Aubrey as Marketing Manager in 2022, responsible for marketing both institutional and wealth management strategies. Before joining Aubrey, she spent four years working in brand and campaign marketing in the spirits and legal sectors.

Linzi graduated with a Master’s degree in International Business with Modern Languages from the University of Strathclyde and holds an MA (Y1) from Toulouse Business School. A budding linguist, Linzi is also fluent in both French and Spanish with a B2 in Italian.

Felix joined Aubrey in 2020 as one of the three co-managers of the TreeTop Global Horizon Fund, and now also jointly manages the TreeTop Convertible International fund.

He started his career working in the United States in 2009 and moved to Hong Kong in 2010 where he joined Wardferry Asset Management as a full-time analyst. Felix worked there for five years, covering companies from various sectors active in the whole Asia-Pacific region. He moved to TreeTop Asset Management in London in June 2015.

Felix graduated with a Masters degree in Business Engineering and with a CEMS Master in International Management from the Louvain School of Management (Belgium).

Jon joined Aubrey in 2020 as one of the three co-managers of the TreeTop Global Horizon Fund, and now also jointly manages the TreeTop Convertible International fund.

After graduating with a degree in Physics from University College London, Jon started his career at Ernst & Young, qualifying as a chartered accountant in 2009. He then joined Sanford C. Bernstein as an equity research analyst in 2010, before moving to TreeTop.

Jon has worked for TreeTop directly, and now indirectly, since 2014. He was previously an analyst and then a co-manager of TreeTop’s Global Opportunities Fund.

Ben joined Aubrey in 2020 as one of the three co-managers of the TreeTop Global Horizon Fund, and now also jointly manages the TreeTop Convertible International fund.

Ben studied at King’s College, Cambridge, where he graduated with a degree in Economics. He then started his career in 2010 at Sanford C. Bernstein where he worked as an analyst on the European Chemicals and European Building Materials sectors. He received the CFA designation in 2013. Following this, Ben started working at TreeTop as an analyst and then a co-manager on their Global Opportunities Fund.
